Estonian language lessons are conducted in Estonian. English as the language of instruction will be used as little as possible.

The lessons use active learning techniques and communicative methodology in its broadest sense. Most attention is paid to the development of listening and speaking skills so that the learner has the courage to use the language in communication situations. Grammar is acquired in context and for the purpose of communication, using a lot of analogy. Learners are encouraged to use the existing language environment: communicating with co-workers and friends, using simpler phrases in service, understanding the written language environment.

Eesti keele õpe viiakse läbi eesti keeles. Inglise keelt kasutatakse vahenduskeelena nii vähe kui võimalik.

Kursuse maht

Õppe kogumaht on 60 tundi (sh 40 tundi auditoorset tööd ja 20 tundi iseseisvat tööd).

The total amount of study is 60 hours (incl. 40 hours of classroom work and 20 hours of independent work).

Iseseisev töö algtasemel aitab eelkõige korrata ja kinnistada tunnis läbivõetut – õppida sõnavara, lugeda tekste või teha grammatikaharjutusi.

Independent work at the basic level helps to repeat what has been done in class - to learn vocabulary, read texts or do grammar exercises.
